1. Description of the subject area (6 tasks)

    We consider here six perspective tasks to minimize losses caused by reduction of functionality of a facility in operation (FO), subject to reconstruction, as well as the costs for reconstruction itself. These tasks are actual in those cases, when due to the importance or uniqueness of the FO (production workshop, station, highway, etc.) it can not be the stopped for the time of its required reconstruction.

     In fact, here is solved the problem of compromise between two values:

1)   the sum of the cost of work on FO reconstruction and expressed in monetary terms the losses from reducing its functionality during reconstruction and

2)   the time of FO reconstruction.

     The order of executing various works on FO reconstruction is described by a network graph consisting of a set of chains (ordinary and nested) of linked operations (see "Portal 9. Optimization of constructing a complex of buldings" of the website). Each such operation can be performed by several alternative options, which are characterized by two numerical parameters: cost and run-time.

     These tasks can be solved numerically by using the new science-intensive network technology called "Information technology of automation of control of discrete technological and information processes (in short IT AC DTIP)", because optimizable process has all necessary properties for that. This process is discrete and is classified as a time-limited process. Its elements in terms of DTIP are:

  • a current (being optimized in this moment) graph chain of operations — a network demand (a chain of linked stages of service);
  • resource (individual) to perform a current operation of a current chain (team of builders with equipment) — a device of service.
