The traditional technology of serving customers in a restaurant or in any other foodservice enterprise has four problems. Firstly, any restaurant customer faces the problem 1 of selecting meals and drinks (MD) in the menu, which is sometimes difficult to do, especially if he does notknow them. Secondly, that customer, who will pay the bill, has the problem 2 of limiting the factual cost of his order by that sum of money, which he had previously allocated to visit the restaurant. Thirdly, the problem 3 is a technological delay, required to prepare ordered dishes and to serve a table, which sometimes can be quite large. Finally, those customers who are struggling with their excess weights, have the problem 4 of restricting calorific value of their order.
We consider here a solvable task on optimizing the customer order in a restaurant (foodservice enterprise), which allows to eliminate the above problems. It can be solved numerically by using the new science-intensive network technology called "Information technology of automation of control of discrete technological and information processes (in short — IT AC DTIP)", because optimizable process has all necessary properties for that. This process is discrete and is classified as an instant process of selecting choices. Its elements in terms of DTIP are:
- MD in a restaurant — demands;
- amount of money, allocated for orderpayment — a device of service.
